The Grand Award of Design is evolving. From 2026, the award runs on a two-year cycle: a Design Activation Year focused on community, events, and dialogue, followed by an Awards Year where the best in Swedish design is recognised and celebrated.
Two years. One continuous movement.
Design doesn’t happen once a year at a gala. It happens in studios, boardrooms, and conversations between people who care about making things better. The new Grand Award of Design format reflects that reality.
Design Community Year
The first year of each cycle is dedicated to building the design community. Through roundtables, Afterworks, and the Design Tour, we bring together companies, designers, and decision-makers to share knowledge, spark ideas, and strengthen the role of design in Swedish industry.
Awards Year
The second year culminates in the Grand Award of Design gala, where the Gold and Pioneer winners are announced. Applications open in the spring 2027, finalists are revealed in October, and winners receive their awards at the annual ceremony.
The Grand Award of Design is an annual award established by Teknikföretagen, an employer organization, in partnership with Techarenan. The award recognizes companies that have gone above and beyond in their design efforts, demonstrating innovation, creativity, and a deep understanding of their target audience’s needs.
Applications for the Grand Award of Design Gold and Pioneer categories will open in 2027.
The winner of the Gold category receives 250,000 SEK.
The Pioneer winner receives 100,000 SEK.
